    If they're tan or black get out the starter fluid and lighter.  :villagers:

    He's a friendly one. I once had a pet tarantula I found near my yard. I'd let him crawl on me up my arm. And then he'd always go up to the top of my head.

    Good God I can't imagine the primal scream my wife would make... ...or I for that matter... if we saw something like that at the last minute - ya know, too close for comfort?  Aw man - my wife would have a heart attack.

    i love all animals, but spiders are a personal favourite. amazing and rewarding creatures if you get over the silly cultural conditioning of fear.

    they also make fantastic photographic subjects, the best being the jumping spiders. i have a bunch on my website under the title 'fly tiger'.

    Cool, my favorites are jumping spiders also.  I have lots of pictures of spiders but nothing like what you have on your site.  Good photography.  Liked the Red Lines also.

    Spiders are great.  They keep all the bugs away. 
      If you go up to the big spider and kind of touch him he will make the web bounce back and forth.  Those spiders are great for that.  Throw a grass hopper into his web and watch how fast he wraps it up.  Very cool!!

    I buy my brother trantula spiders every year. I think they're creepy, but he likes them so i buy them. I found out the hard way they are escape artist :22yikes:

    I saw one just like that outside of my garage the other day. I'll grant that spiders eat other insects, and more power to them, but I didn't want to crawl under the car one day and be staring that thing in the face. Let's just say that he's now doing his best impersonation of a sheet of paper.

    That is freakin' cool!   We called 'em Banana Spiders, too, Al, seen a few HUGE ASS ones in my life!

    I can't believe there's another Jumping Spider lover on here, too.  I've helped my girlfriend get over her fear of spiders by showing her all the "pretty little jumping spiders", picking them up, and making sure I set 'em down in a safe spot.  I don't mind them at all, they are like tiny living precious gems!!

    Daddy Long legs and me are cool, I have a light in my garage that I always leave on, and they always hang around it catching the bugs that go to the light.

    Black Widows are put to death instantly, though.  Usually by fire, too!    :grinyes:

    here's a close up pic of a similar species to that banana spider (nephila genus, or golden orb weavers).
    this lady was photographed in cambodia. there are some massive ones in the tropics, around south east asia and northern australia.
    i've come across fist sized ones in webs that were over 2m across!

    That's a cool spider Russ,
    And one huge nest. I know all about golden orb weavers (the big black/yellow ones). They are prevelent in my area and like to make webs from my carport to the trees or fence. When I inadvertantly walk ino the webb I usually freak out and do an irish jig. I probably look more like I am demon possesed or been hit by a taser!! :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley: PS: those are some awesome photo's Aaron!!
