NOS Dixco Hood Tach
« on: August 23, 2008 - 11:20:22 AM »
Anybody want to hazard a guess for value on an NOS Dixco Hood Tach from Direct Connection, i.e., with the Pentastar? I saw one on ePay a few months back that went for $825, but I think it was used.

I have never seen a NOS one.  Very nice!

In todays market my guess would be around $600 to $750.  If you find that one buyer who has to have it it may go well over a $1,000.

I've decided to go with a TA hood, and my opinion is that the hood tach is the wrong shape to complement the TA scoop, so I think I probably wont use it.

Well...doesn't look as bad as I'd thought it would. Thanks for the post. If you have more, one with the hood down would be great.

i could be wrong but these tacs are the same as pontiacs just a logo change. several years ago many were floating around new repros  pontiac  versions with a decal change . i just put a new one on a judge last summer . many mopar parts are  shared with other makes ,remember the thick wings .you could buy better ones from ford resto shops also the road lamps much cheeper from a 68 mustang just a snip snip on the bezzel and a 180.00 savings . just a thought .c

Pontiacs had their own unique hood tachs but Dixco was available on some models of Pontiac and was most commen for Mustangs and Camaros plus Mopars of course.

I know that Dixco also made the Rebel Machine hood tach. If I recall correctly, there were three different Dixco designs, and I think the one with the tri color face is the last one they released.

Yes, and the early hood tachs had a basic black face with white numbers and the orange/red pointer. :2thumbs:

I will have to have a look to see what other pictures i have. :picture:
