Go-Fish update
« on: August 24, 2008 - 11:26:48 PM »
Been home for about 2.5 weeks and gladly got to jump back on the cuda. I had the engine dyno'ed right before I took my most recent deployment. A recap on that, it is a D1 SC'ed 408 and the tranny is a MMR prepped TKO 500 5 speed.

She went in like a foot in a favorite pair of slippers. The engine leveler paid off.

I ave been working on the car for short periods at a time. I have owned it for three years, before it was siting in my Dad's field for about 15 years in Oklahoma.
I bought it from my Dad right before my Okinawa deployment. I brought the car down to MS where I am stationed and left the country. Hurricane Ktrina came and visited while I was gone and I was so worried it was wiped out. Luckily the car was high and dry.
I have been in a Battalion that deploys for 6-7 months and is home between deployments for 9-10 so juggling car time with my wife and two year old time is tough sometimes.
My plan all along was to attack it in sections. I was a little overwhelmed starting out but the gentleman whose shop I use had given me good advice: Front to back or ground up, pick a spot and go for it.
I chose to start with suspension then go to drivetrain. Next will be paint and body then interior. I will have to pull the drivetrain but I am going to enjoy driving it till it comes time.

Sorry I haven't kept a project thread but I have some old pics of the Alter-k and Air Bar installs. The primer spots and body is pretty much how I pulled it out of the field. It has minimal rust but still needs alot of bodywork.

I'm going to have nightmares about this car, it will lurk in the shadows, and assault me once I turn my back to close the gate to the property I live in, Christine style. It's that level of badass!

Alright, I am not good at this thread maintenance thing but really the only thing I have been doing is plumbing. I have been making AN hoses and routing the P/S to Hydroboost to Rack and Pinion to resevoir. That was a mess.
I got the ProCar seats in as well. I set up the water injection in the trunk for the supercharger cooling.
I am coming up on 30 days vacation starting Tues. so I will be posting more pics and telling more lies, .....er, stories.
