No timing cover issues with the Cloyes setup. Never had any issue like that with any chain set on any Mope. Sounds like you used to run Chevys?  :smilielol:

I was reading there advertising, and it mentioned some covers need may have clearence issues.. (maybe depending if it's an aftemarket cover, I dont know) not sure if that was for this engine.. dont want to find something later on, better to ask now than order and find out the hard way... I am strickly mopar... dads chevy, brother is pontiac.. cant knock the chevy engines, prices are cheap.. My Dads  385 stroker made 472hp and 505tq... last year he wanted more out of it, took it to his engine builder and  swapped out the rods, pistons, and full roller cam.. builders engine dyno was booked months in advance.. so he didn't get it dynoed.. small motor big numbers, cant complain.. it's nice to have 3 different makes in the faimily.. you know neighbors friends will come over, they love the cars.. and everyone has there own prefference....   it was my Dad that got me into these cars, if not this I would of got a 69 charger.. so see even the chevy guys have a heart..lol.

The BB Mope has no issues there. Some of the Chevys need cam buttons to keep the cam gear from contacting the cover.

I have less than $4,000 in my 416 and it made 520hp (@ 6,200) & 500tq with the smallest factory solid cam chrysler makes (.538") with the water pump & alternator attached. I did all the head porting and assembly myself. With a big solid roller and some larger diameter headers who knows what it would make?  I thought I'd better just leave it as-is with the 38 YO 340 engine block.

The stock rockers? YES. Don't worry about it.

A little trick I learned from a Chrysler flat rate mechanic back in the day is to take your dipstick out and lay it flat between the rocker pedastals and pushrods to hold the pushrods in line to install the rockers/shafts. Makes the job much easier. Once you have the rockers placed on the heads you can pull it right out

got almost everything I need.. got to goto the local parts store to get the timing cover gaskets ect..
I bought royal purple Max-Tuf synthetic assembly lube, I asked a sales rep at jegs if this was ok to use on a camshft during breakin, he said yes... should I use a synthetic lube for the cam?? also I have mobil 1 synthetic oil in my car.. I probaly only gone 5 or 6 miles since I changed it.. does this mean I have to drain it and add regular oil for breakin?

I thought that synthetic oil had a tendency to stop lifters from rotating in their bore?  I think I read that on a cam break in sheet. :dunno:

Not sure if all manufacturers have something similar in there, but I wouldn't take the chance if it were me. :2cents:

here is pic of the timing gear cloyes double roller. in the instructions it shows lining the dots up to each other, but the dots in there pic shows the bottom and top teeth meeting one another. but as you see in this pic the dot is in the middle of the teeth.. so what should I do?
