You know you can leave it on, take an open 9/16 wrench behind it and unscrew the bolt. Many have done this before. Leave a top bolt on the otherside unscrewed out 3/4 of the way to keep it balanced. Your choice to remove the pipe once out or just work around it as others do.

Now yer getting tricky when it comes to cams and chains. Can you centerline a cam?  If yer not going to, then you really really need a quality acurate well built chain set and then it is still daring.  Good night

I am geting the cloyes souble roller.. is there any timing cover issues with this part?? also I pulled number one plug and cranked the engine over, untill the compression pushed my finger off the hole.. I did this twice and the marks as shown.. crank dot is facing up at 12:00 and the cam sprocket dot is at 12:00 as well is, this correct?

(thats what my Dad said....)  just want to double check..the rotor is off by one spot on the cap. but this seems to be the only way I feel the compression on the motor... I am going to check it again..
