the teeth do not line up , line up the dots , degree it & change it if nessisary , the other marks either advance or retard the timing 4*

ok, got them on.. but it was hard to get these marks lined up the way they are.. in the pic it looks like the lower dot isn't completley strait up.. there is so much slack in this chain on both sides... it's cloyes part number 9-3104 ... if I change it just one tooth the marks will be off much more..

Are both sprockets seated all the way on the crank and cam?   Has the block been line boredL  Looks like it has if all is seated.

That picture does not look quit right.  Any chance you can take a picture with the camera horizontal to the block and dead inline, to me you look to be one tooth out. :2thumbs:

yea, they are now :-[..
chain is tight.....
I had my Dad hold a ruler while I took the pics, kinda hard to do this.. it's off just barley..
in the second pic thats how they line up if the ruler wasn't there but the chain is tight now..

I still think you are a tooth out...........
Rotate the bottom dot a little more and hold the ruler to line up through the bottom snout and throught he middle of the dot and then the middle of the cam bolt, i am thinking it looks a little out from here.  ;)

I set the old gear over the new one, and the old is dead strait up.. you can see the new one behind it is just off to the right.. but I'll give it a shot. the red tube you see in the pic is sitting right on the dot on the new set. on the old gear you can see where I put some green paint on the timing dot.

It looks good to go to me. It looks like the block has been line bored though.

well here I am again.. I called cloyes tech line yesterday and today, I guess there tech line goes to one person, because it's says mike is not available to leave a message >:(
but I found a much easier way to see if the dots line up, I put the top gear on a secured bolt or a wire, then put the bottom gear on and no matter what the dots are not lining up, it either goes to the left or right one tooth..
but here is there instructions. notice they marks how it shows on the page is not how they are on the gears

So you can't get the dots to line up even laying on a table?

I tried the table. and it's quicker and more acurate doing it the way I descibed.. I am guessing perhaps they put the wrong set in the box.. dont know how that can happen if it's automated..
