Cheapest year?

I'm not sure if this really fits here but - what do you think the cheapest challenger hard top is?
Year, options etc.

You just have to find a good deal on a basic chassis.  Any '72 to '74 you can get a good deal on.  I don't believe it matters that much between those years.  Then try to weigh how much rust it has and how much bodywork it needs and add that amount to the total.

I think because of the 360 and the large bumper gaurds brings the prices down lower than the 72's. The price between 72-74 isn't any where near as big as compared to 70 or 71 but is noticable.

OK but a '72 may have a slant six. Even a 7 1/4 rearend was still available in '72.  These things were gone in '73 and '74 so I think a basic '74 with a 318 and a 8 3/4 is going to be worth more then a basic '72 with a slant and a 7 1 /4'

If all you have to change is a couple of bumpers and brackets the '74 wins every time.  Of course a '72 Challenger Rallye (VIN JS23) would trump them all because no such option is available in '73 or 4. I like the bigger bumpers because I'm sick but I think we can all agree that the rubber bumpers were the way to go and if Mopar had restyled them like Pontiac did for the Firebirds over the years then they might be still selling Challengers...

Actually, the second generation Challenger ran from 78-83. The 78 model was my first Challenger. 

You would have a real hard time finding any second generation Challenger alive right now.

Just based on the few small pics that are there I'd say that car looks realtively solid.

I wish there were of few more pics of the car. That driver's side quarter panel looks shot, so the other might be as well. I'd like a closer shot of that rusty roof too. I hope it isn't rotted.

Yup, the quarters will need to be replaced, probably the trunk and floor pans as well. Can't really tell about the roof, but I'd want to crawl underneath and make sure the framerails were solid before I bought it...

Also FYI, I bought my running, driving '72 for 11k. Thats US $, but its all about the same now. It has a small hole in the floorpan and a small soft spot in the driver's rear rail, but the rust on that car looks much worse. Mine may take a small patch or two on the doglegs of the fenders, but no full quarter or fender replacement. I'd want to work the owner down from that price, or keep looking...
