Carpet - Year One??

Year One offers Carpets (80 - 20) for E-Bodies $159... I need one for a 70 Cuda, 4spd... There website states that holes will have to be cut for the shifter, seats, and console.. They do not mention the seat belt retractors (pre-cut)..
They say that the carpets are made from the same material as the originals..     Does any company sell the carpets, pre cut?? and is this a good deal from year-one?? Are there better vendors??

My experience has been that most of their stuff comes from ACC ... Sometimes I can get a better deal through ACC sometimes not.

I am not sure of the exact vender they use, but I know you use to be able to purchase the carpet directly from the vender at a lower price.

I installed new carpet in mine and yes cut the holes out... however you do not need to for the seatbelts as i put in new XV stuff..... the trick is once you get the carpet in completly after the console shifter etc... is get under the car and the mounting points for the seatbelts just poke a hole up through with a phillips screwdriver and its in the perfect spot to mount belts from up top .... just wiggle the hole open alittle wider up top for the bolt

So, installing the seats would be similar (poking a hole through the bottom)..... 

I didn't know if anyone sold the carpet with the holes for the shifter (pistol grip) (pre-cut)...  because if you (I) mess up the cut, it would be pretty visible...  Year one specifies between auto & manual..  I guess that is for the tranny hump....

So, anyway, is $159 a decent price??

Thanks for all of the info....  It looks as though I will have to cut the hole for the shifter regardless on where I get it from...     Also, Year One sells different carpets for the Cuda & the Challenger (I thought that the Challenger's floor pans where a little longer)...  Paddock & Legendary just sells one type of carpet for both EBODY's...

I would rather see you get a TrimParts carpet, they are better and priced cheaper.
I sell them both, ACC and Trimparts carpets and yes there are differences.

Every time I have bought new carpet for a car, it is always too short up under the dash. It never goes up all the way like the original, and you can see the edge.

that is one of the problems with ACC.

I don't know where Paddocks gets their parts but I have always had quality problems when I ordered from them in the past (I no longer order from them because of their quality issues), my carpet turned brown in less than a year, my Dad had seat upholstery split in less than 6 months and these are just a couple of problems I've experienced.

I always get my carpets now from Year One which gets them from ACC. i will probably start ordering them directly from ACC to save on the cost and one day I am hoping to elliminate ordering parts from year one all together (getting really pricey lately). ACC's carpets aren't perfect but look pretty good once installed and worked with.
