I've got a pair of stealths.
Engine is almost ready to run.
What to look out for with these heads:
-You need ARP head bolts/studs, standard bolts can't be tightened.
-Special head gasket needed with a 4.5" bore either Felpro marine or ROL
-Standard retainers/locks have failed on some in the past.
I've bought 10deg compcam retainers and locks, but retainers hit the stamped rockers.
As far as I know I am the only one with this problem.
Can be rectified by fitting -0.050" locks, I went to beehives.
-3/8" pushrods touching the heads, easily rectified with a file.
-Check valve seats and guides.
-I've heard about some heads having porosity problems and leaking coolant.
-When going to a roller cam switch to better valves.
-Combustion chamber is pretty large, 84cc. I took 0.050" off and am now at 75cc.
Would I switch mine for eddy heads?
No I like the stealths, despite the problems.
