The trans was replaced when the #3 motor, a 440 when in, I shortened the drive shaft, added a new longer trans., put in 4.30's on a lightweight spool. This car ran 12.54 in 1/4 mi. @ 108 /340LA, at the now defunct Fremont Raceway Park.  The emblems are as delivered. The bumper guards were recently removed again.  A car backed up in the staging lanes and cracked the beak, (because they were off at the time) by crawling over the bumper and tapping the grill.         103,000+ miles. Thanks for the replies! :aarg:

Oh yeah, I also  own a 68 notch back stuffed with the left overs from the #2 motor set up. Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, is the place to see it run. Video at the bottom.

Cool. Can you tell me the build date on the drivers door tag?  I'm wondering if the emblem on the door thing is a holdover from '73.  That would make sense if you had a early '74 car

Maybe the emblems on the quarters is a mid year change for '74.

360cuda, I got the build date, 11,13,1973 from the fender plate info. I ordered the car the first week of Sept. 1973 and it was the soonest the De Cozen Chrysler Dealer, Bloomfield Ave., Montclair N.J. could take an order for a 1974 model. Not to say that some 1974's weren't produced before that, so it is an early model, for the shortest production (-9000), with the final one rolling off the assembly line on April 1, 1974. "A cruel joke". The color of mine is the one shown in the 1974 sales brochure, Moonstone Met. but I left out the beige top. The joke at the time was, "when it rusts out, it won't show".  :bigshades:

Yep, I'm to blame for it. I should have ordered the blue Cuda instead. But the coins weren't there in those days, so I spent the extra on the stereo, tires, brakes, HD suspension with sway bars, and mags. Gas shortages of 1974 made be get the 318cu.in., with 2.76 axle ratio, in order to drive out west for good.  plus, now I like flying below the radar with the 440 in a plain brown package. "all part of the plan".

Back then when it was made, it was one of the most popular colors on Mopars. Mine was the same color originally.
