I agree with Neil, a K-54 is a good choice or the Lunati twin version if they have one. THink a 2.47 is high? I had a 2.14 gear with a 9.25 out of a 76 lean burn 400 Cordoba once. At one time I was driving in my car with a trans that was missing 1st and 2nd. Try taking off in 3rd with that gear, it was miserable.

Thanks guys, I also posted this on moparts and the general opinion over there was that my current cam should be fine and it really wouldn't do much for the car as the rear end gears, 2.45, are holding it back and that since I have what may or may not be a "mild" cam in there now that it may in fact do nothing. Does this sound right?

Yes, those rear gears will swallow whatever small power upgrades you make like a cam and springs on a smogger 400.
