:22yikes: Yikes...my front shocks are the factory originals, making them 36 years old.  But honestly, theres nothing wrong with them so I'm keeping them on.

Shockers are the most mis-understood componet of the suspension. They effect the braking as well as the ride and handling on twisting roads.
Some people want a soft lightly sprung ride, but braking and cornering are poor. I know people don't want their kidneys ruptured either, therefore a compromise must be made. For an average street/cruise vehicle a gas shocker is all that is needed, straight oil shockers went out many years ago. Any shocker that has done more than 100,000 miles is really worn out, maybe ok for a shopping jeep but not much else.
The shocker is an investment in safety, Monroe, KYB are 2 good brands that are also affordable, I am not familar with all the brands on the American market, you can drop a lot of money on some brands but not get any real benifit on a street car.

I have Edelbrock IAS Perfomers on the front and plan on putting a set on the back.

Lucy has Edelbrock IAS Performers and they are real nice. The car with these shocks just hugs the road, glides like a plane and is still quite stiff. Rear "trunk push" travel is probably like 3/4" with a good firm push. That with not a single rattle makes the car a real pleasure to drive.
