are the kids interested in our mopars?
« on: August 28, 2008 - 09:52:05 PM »
Read somewhere a members 16yo wasn't showing interest in cars or mopars! So I thought, out of my four, only my #3 child showed interest in my Challenger so when she hit 18 (last year), we were bbqing etc and I threw her the keys and said lets go! After 4 yrs of bugging me she got to drive it! She was pretty happy after 45 minutes of cruising around, waking up the neighborhood, but the steaks were toast! Well worth it in the evolution of life! She's sad I have the car up for sale, but she know it needs a good home. She would love to have it! Maybe her wedding present?

My son and daughter are both into Mopars. They both love going to shows and drag racing.Shelby goes with me when she doesn't have to work. She wouldn't ever miss Carlisle. My son and his family go with us when they come up to visit. My son sold his 69 Dart GT to a good friend of ours. He is still kicking himself in the butt for selling it. He has a SRT-4. Shelby shows her 93 Daytona. She also owns a 78 Dodge Super Coupe. Here are my Mopar kids.  :2thumbs:

My son is in love with cars, but so far mostly the new stuff, except for low riders ('64 Impalas are supposed to be "da bomb").  He likes going to shows with me, but loses interest pretty quick.  But he's only 10.  He may change his mind after I get my car running and take him for a ride.  :burnout:

All 3 of my kids grew up with my 'Cuda.   On warm summer Saturday nights we would all get in and go for a cruise.  They loved it.

My daughter is a rev head, she likes fast cars and bikes, her husband is a total petrol head, bikes and cars. They both want my Challenger when I kick the bucket.
My son is the same, likes fast cars, MOPARs, and bush bashing with his bike, he also wants my Challenger and his son likes speed.   :burnout:

my son is too young to tell (19 months now). but he does seem to like to drive it. he stands on daddys lap and steers as we move it around the driveway. cant wait to get home and take him to one of the car shows in it.

My daughter is only four right now but all she ever talks about is her Barracuda!  I don't know when it became hers, probably at birth!  Her grandfather loves the fact that she is all into it.  She also cried when we sold our Challenger and the guy took it away on his trailer.  Who knew someone so young could identify with cars but I did, I guess you just don't expect it as much from little girls.

I would have to say the only thing my daughter is interested in as far as the cars go is how much she can get for them when I'm dead. We took here to car shows for years and NOTHING stuck.

LOL!!  :lol2: (I agree) luckly and lovey daughter you have there, you must be proud.

I'm only 26 but like most here am and will always be a kid at heart, who wants to die a grumpy fart?? NOT ME, I'm on the the Rock n Roll train. :smokin: Although I am young I still do all I can to encourage the younger guys and gals into the hobby. When I was a little younger I didn't get much of that, just lots of heroes and "sausage" measure at shows so I'm determined to be the absolute opposite of those people..........
