383 Magnum Emblems ON !!

bought these at spring fling 2010 & 2009

keep in mind my ride is a driver so alot of the work done to it is by me and my pops and we improvise with what we have which makes having a classic that much more fun.

sanded both down then repainted with DecoColor markers and they came out perfect ... both of them were broken but for $5 and $3 bucks a piece ill got by specially when they go from 40-75 on ebay...

found this at the Fall Fling for $3 bucks !!! needs work but i look forward to it ... now i just have to find another one...

SO my buddy goes down to a junk yard and finds this !

its off of a 77 van ... with my mouth drooling i go to fit it. The diameter is too small....

i then test it out with poster puddy ... works but sticks out waaaay too much. I almost say to hell with it ill leave it but then my buddy says that we can remove the foam from this button with a power tool he has...

SOOO i take out an exacto knife, trace a pattern and start cutting

i first made a circle pattern so i wouldnt do any excess cutting. I start to cut the circle pattern and i realize that i can actually take out the foam with a flat head screw driver after making triangle cuts.

heres pics of before

and one with the mopar button sitting ON the black button

heres during the custom work and after

so after about 6 - 7 years restoring my ride i thought it was time to take it in for a look over from an actual mechanic.

Well...

after he replaced the brake pads and my rear shocks he moved on to the engine... he found a crack in it that was leaking water... jb weld was out of the question for me right off the bat.

so after almost 4 months in the shop (im not being charged storage thankfully) looking for a replacement engine or block. We found out that what we thought was a 440 ... was actually a 413...............................

so we decided to go with an actual 440 ... We found a metal shop worker who owns a body shop and gets cores every once in awhile and he rebuilds them. The guy asked for $2000 fully rebuilt with receipts when i get my car. He is also giving me a 3 year warranty.

i will be visiting the shop in this week to check out the process.

BTW the tranny also will need work.... dame it ....
