Just for reference my 15 x 8 1/2 inch Centerlines weigh 13 pounds.  How much do the Optimas weigh??

I didn't know that SCCA wont let you run 'Lines.   My friends and I have been pretty mean to Centerline Autodrags and they have not let us down yet...

BTW Autoxcuda.  I love your site

I'd like to find out about those.   I really like the minilites. They look more like them than the VWW. If they were lighter, and not too expensive. They have to be 17".

Are you talking about the PS Engineering rims on the blue Cuda I pictured above??

Tim list them as $370 ea for 15x8's. 17" have a different larger center. I'm sure the price is more for 17",but don't know how much. The look changes somewhat with the bigger diameters. Not a ton, but some.

Thanks. Maybe I should update it some decade. Now I can't even find the way to update it. Can't find the way to get to the AOL access? :pullinghair:  :1zhelp:

I don't think those optimas are too light. I don't have a scale here. But if I remember tommorrow I can weigh one on an old baby scale at my parents place.

Robert weighed the VWW wheels and they were 17x8 - 20.5 lbs and 17x9 - 22 lbs.

For another reference point, an AR Torque Thrust II 17x9 was only 17 lbs.

I wish someone made some light weight mini-lite looking rims in 17's.....

Next option would be getting some weights on a PS Engineering 17x9.

It could very well be that the physical design just leads to it's weight. There's 8 spokes in a minilite. I dunno?

Just have some track rims and tires and some street minilite looking rims. I think that's almost inevitable anyway. But with a 68 notchback Cuda I can fit all 4 tires/rims in the huge trunk. :2thumbs:  :P

Wow, all this just asking about some 17" Magnums.  Definately an interesting read though.  Thanks for all the comments.

Here's a little combination of Minilite looking rims for comparison. I think the rears are Optimas, Westerns or ?. The front I can't I.D very well. Maybe Minilites or Superlites, but look like neither by the distance from the spoke to the lug nuts. ????
