:horse:     I have 17's.  They were heavier than my 15's.   Better rubber,Bigger brakes. I'll cough up the jacks for Budnik gassers someday...   :money:     The 17's are a perfect size!  Not too big,Just big enough.  :2cents:

I still like the magnums!  Some of the best 17's I've seen. :2thumbs:

Wish these were lighter...     Not that I'm racing or anything :poopoke:

What are the exact specs (width, backspacing, and weight) of those Wheel Vintique minilite look a likes?? I really like them, but afraid they are heavy.

Hey Drew!  Yours was sweeeeet too...  Just glad I caught you when I did. I NEVER forget a car.   Lots of nice rides there.   When I left I got pulled over for giving it too much go juice. :dupe: Just a warning.  ::)  Next month is the last cruise of the year... Hope to see ya' there!  Try and park closer to the Sonic,Out in the open. Your car was hiding out somewhere.

So... here's those specs...

Front: 17 X 8   4.5 backspacing     245/45 tires   RMS alterKation,QA1 coils,rack   Need to lower it alittle.

Rear: 17 X 9   5.0 backspacing      275/40 tires   SS springs,upper perch hole.

The rims are heavy IMO...  I'm looking for the weights... Travis had me weigh them when I got them.Gimmie a few.

Is that the state trooper test facility by Golden?       All you need is a helmet and battery hold-down?

I'd  LOVE  to take this thing out there...    :naughty:

NHRA approval doesn't mean much on a road course, ya know. NHRA approves Centerlines, but there isn't a road race organization out there that would allow you to run them.

Real Minilites are still available, but the currency exchange rate would make them pretty expensive. They do offer a genuine 15x8 trans am racing wheel. http://www.minilitewheels.com/products.htm#ev2000

Another option is Panasport wheels, which are similar. Racing specific modular designs up to 17x11 are available. http://racing-stuff.com/panasport.htm

Team 3 makes a decent replica in 15, 16, and 17 sizes. http://www.etwheels.com/ac/

All Time Racing also offers a variety of racing weight minilite, look a likes. http://alltimeracing.com/v2/

Of course there are the Vintage Wheel Works that IMNCARN8 uses. http://www.vintagewheelworks.com/products/wheels

I couldn't get 17" minilites   They said they were looking into it.

VWW V48's were supposed to have 18's by now.

In a 17" wheel...    Or any wheel.   What is a respectable weight?  I know a Viper owner who brought over a set of 12's that were very light!   I really like the wheels i got,But someday would like an exotic ,lightweight wheel. Had I known about the weight, I might have held back. At 1300 for the hoops made to my specs. It wasn't overboard. I really like the look of minilites.  But wanted 17's.   Got tired of looking at wheels that were 5,000 for the rims alone!
I got expensive taste I guess.  I'll weight them again soon if I can't find that stuff.

Thanks HP2 !

Got these at a swap meet a while back. Real good shape, just dull.  I think Optima still makes these. http://www.colorworksmotorsport.com/optim4.html Bummer is they have "Optima" molded into the inner rim face  :screwy: Price is decent.

15x9 ! But they have 4 1/8 backspacing  :banghead: And of course there is not much decent price easily availible 15" rubber and I'd like to go to bigger rotors some day. I like the look of the curved spokes.

This is a 15x8 P.S. Engineering rim that Tim sells on his website www.alltimeracing.com

These have tapered lug hole WITH steel inserts.  :2thumbs: Top notch, but not cheap.

I think these are availible in 17" diameter from P.S. in two piece form???

Here is a picture of a real 1969 Minilite on Jerry Titus' 69 Firebird

I'd like to find out about those.   I really like the minilites. They look more like them than the VWW. If they were lighter, and not too expensive. They have to be 17".
