I'm going to keep my car and not worry about how much I spend on it.  I could die at any time and if there is money left over then I won't have sold the car, I won't have spent to much money on it and it won't be my problem.

:iagree:  I look at it the same way.

My wife is decent about the amount I invest in my car.  She fully understands that unlike daily drivers, my call holds value and is somewhat of a savings account if I ever decide to sell it.  I just invested a fair amount into my engine and she barely whimpered.  About a month after the engine was finished, she mentioned she'd like to get hardwood floors in our foyer, dining room and kitchen.  I said wasn't sure we should get into the investment right now and she looked at me and said "excuse me"?  I knew full well what she meant and we have had two estimates.  It's the tradeoff.   :money:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I had the same exact thing.
First I bought my cordoba and the wife said she wanted new floors.
I said OK, I started saving but then bought my challenger.
She said now I want my floors!!!
I said OK and started saving again.
BUT, I can't drive around without a/c here in south florida, and with all the old people driving I have to be able to stop on a dime so I needed power disc brakes so there went the floor.
Now she's getting mad so I said the floor is next.
BUT, in went the chally for the 9 month resto.
She said, look MF, or something to that effect- the garage is now empty, we can move everything into the garage and get the floor done.
Being Loraina Bobbitt is her idol, I agreed.
She's got the new floor, and I got purple haze.
Oh, I still have my private parts too.

Yeah I have to bite my lip when my Wife asks for something, She is great with my car stuff.  It is an addiction, but better than some alternative addictions for sure.

I just guess I am a glutton for punishment as i have an "A" body and an "E" body and spend money on both. I've spent far more on my Challenger; 10K to buy it, another 1K for shipping, 8K on paint and body work and another 2K-3K  on various drive train upgrades (who knows, I lost count!)!! The Barracuda needs a new paint job, but that will have to wait.  :22yikes: Every time the UPS man comes I try to meet him in the driveway before he rings the doorbell!! :smilielol: :roflsmiley:. But I remind my wife of the often QVC packages that arrive!! :roflsmiley: And when she complains on all the "new" stuff, I just talk about green fees, hunt club fees and boating excursion costs!! She knows where to find me and it ain't in a bar!! :burnout:

Ahh, your wife has the QVC addiction too, huh?  Unfortunately, even though I haven't spent even 1/3 of what she's spent from QVC, I get zero support on working on my car.   :violin:
