15's and lower your car..........  :working:

With the 17's I was within 4.5" to the ground at the header and 4" to trans pan.

I may have gained a bit with the 15's but not more than an inch or so.

I couldn't get a floor jack under the rail at the front to jack it up with the 17's.

How low can you go? :bananasmi

17's are winning again.LOL

I am going to need a realignment if I keep the 15's on.  Still stable at speed though.  But they mess up my speedo a bunch(reads 62 and I'm going 70mph)  I had it perfect with the 17's.

How low can you go?, we need to find a reference point ,like the bottom edge of the fender and see just how low some of our cars are, mine is 23 3/8ths, my yard stick was upside down lol the first time :banghead:

With the 17's my fenders are 24" to the ground, measured to the center of the wheel well.

Just get another speedo gear and it will be fixed.   :2thumbs:

I just got it squared away with the trans change a little while ago, although I still have the old one but don't know what gear it is.

We seem to have a very progressive board here, I have this same poll on a local to me site and it is like 13 for 15's ans 3 for 17's.LOL

Tom :2thumbs:

BTW if the 17's and 15's were the same brand I'd try it out for you Bullitt99.

IIRC 17's are ahead now again.

I agree with Goody, if you want something more modern, the 17/18 is a decent combination. I used to have 15's on my car. Currently I have 17's all around, but the tall tires for 17's in the rear are pretty much non-existent anymore except for maybe the old 275/60R17 Lightning tire. Once my rear tires are worn out, I will probably go with the same tire size as Goody on the back of mine. I have not seen any 17" drag tires taller than 26". I run some 15's at the track with ET streets. I used to run the car really low, but after I dented the heck out of my transmission pan, I raised the front end back up some.
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

I like the 17" wheels.
Large gleaming chrome and polished alloys make me smile - but there is a limit!
If you swap out for a set of 26" rims with spinners that's no good

With my current Cuda project, I get to pick the wheel combo, and I'm going to want something that stands out from the normal.

So eventually I will be doing a poll on the wheel type/size for it  ;D
