Adjustable Pinion Snubber

I bought a adjustable pinion snubber on ebay. It's in pretty good shape. But, on the lowest setting its touching the floor. I think I'm going to put the factory one back on. Could I bought one for a dana or something?  It looks like this

For some reason they're always to long like that. Wack it off with a hacksaw to fit your car and get the proper gap to the floor.

That was my thought, maybe cut off the top hole.

what should the snubber to pan distance be at ride height? or what is the min space?

Yup I cut the bottom of mine off, it sits about 3/4's of an inch and doesn't really hit much if ever.

If you're planning on buying one of these you'll have the same problem.
It's too long as well.

Just take your time and cut it shorter. :2cents:

If you have to you can drill a new hole for the pin, I didn't have too.

I had one of those on a Dana, it ended up bending the first time it got hammered.  Put the stock one back on, been happy ever since.  Dana's have the problem of only 1 rear bolt on the snubber.  The front bolt take no load at all.

 :iagree:  Unless you have a tap and die laying around big enough to cleanup those threads after hacksawing that threaded tube off it'll be easier to just shorten the one you have.

And I'd go a different route with a 4-speed high HP car. My friend bent the crap outta his floorboard using one in his 440 4 speed Dart. They need the big SS springs or a 4 link setup.

The adjustable pinion snubbers were designed to be used with the superstock rear springs. When I put the SS springs in my Cuda I had about 2" more clearance than I did with the tired stock springs.
