    The Mopars at the Playboy Mansion Event hosted by Mopar Collector's Guide will be the night before. All of those cars are invited to display in a special area at Fall Fling the next morning.

    To give you an idea of the type of cars you'll see at Fall Fling from the Mansion event:
    Cars at last year's Mopar at the Mansion

    Fall Fling is a Show and Shine show held at Woodley Park in Van Nuys on Saturday October 18, 2008. Any Mopar and all conditions welcome. Mopars of Merit Ribbons awarded. The show is entirely held on a shaded tree adorned grass covered park. There’s a shaded picnic area with food court. BBQ’s ok too.

    There are lots of E-bodies at Fall Fling.
    Bring your show queen, project, daily driver... It's a great oppurtunity to meet other E-body owners and do some valuable networking.

    I would think sthere would be more people than thenuke1 planning on coming to Fall Fling.  :dunno:







    This is the ex 4x4 71 Cuda that Mopar Matt had for a while. Was in the Mickey Thompson off road series at a display vehicle? at one time. I think someone has on old 4x4 picture of this car as their avatar.

    Why not take it. You've done so much work yourself. You even painted it yourself IIRC, that is rarity today. Bringing the car will increase your chances of getting good networking and finding parts, services, advice, etc... I thought you lived close enough to push it to the show.

    Make sure to put on the dash placard that you and your dad restored the car, painted it, how long you've had it. A little quick story of your project. People appreciated that. Like anything in life, there might be one armchair quarterback out of hundreds that makes a stupid comment. 90% of the time they don't own a car and 10% it's "at home"

    Projects like yours can get very discouraging over time. It's easy to loose interest, motivation, and energy. I think bringing you car to the show will be a boost of energy to keep moving foward. I hear that from many people that attend.

    wow man thanks for the motivation  :thumbsup:

    we do live close and the car is drive-able ... we would have to park it at the free parking cuz we didnt apply for a show car position maybe next year ill apply but me and my dad wanna move around and see everything we dont wanna stay stuck around our challenger, not that anyone might do anything to it or not that its the best in the world being a driver and all we just wanna see the show and go to the swap.

    but maybe ill do what you suggested put up a little note about the car and a big "REAL BACK YARD PROJECT" and put up some pics on the dash ... wow im getting hyped ...

    the negative comments dont bother me cuz at the end of the day ... im driving a 71 Challenger regardless of negative comments

    yeah i know what you mean about discouraging projects but ever since i was 13 my eyes were set on that car but my pops works from 5am - 4pm so when he gets home he's tired and i understand so it wasnt til this past summer when i decided to invest time and money into completing it and now we drive nearly every weekend

    You can still send in your show car pre registration for $20. We'll still take it. And you can pay day of the show too for $5 more ($25).

    There is no "car show position". Run whatcha brung and have a good time. I've seen smashed 4door coronet next to $500K real 71 Hemi Cuda's. And the hemi cuda owner didn't have any problem with it.

    When you show it now people will recognize the progress you make with it. If you just magically show up with a done car, people don't know if you just paid to have someone do it for you.

    You said the car was built to be a driver. If you have to hover and chain yourself to it, that will never be fun no matter what you do with it.

    At work again for this one, otherwise I'd really have to consider driving the chally down from Sac. Maybe for the best, thats a pretty long run given what I don't know (and know already  :misbehaving:) about the previous owner's rebuild on my 318/904.

    Hopefully though I'll be able to make the spring fling, should have my freshly rebuilt 340 and 4 speed in by then! :burnout:

    That would be cool. Spring Fling is a two day event with a special Mopar only cruise on Saturday night. The guys from the bay area did fantastic Coastal Cruise down Hwy 1 on Friday.     Oh definitely! I was interested for Spring Fling this year, but I'd only had my car for 2 months and was still sorting out the bugs (still am!). If I remember right I was at work that weekend too ::). Amazing how often it seems to work like that, seeing as how I only work 10-11 days a month. Are the dates for next year set already? I'll take the time off if I have to, I should have the 'ol girl more than ready by May.
