Once I've got the pushrods in I'm going to turn the motor over by hand and make sure the valves don't hit.

How I checked mine was I used silly puddy on top of the piston. Turned the engine over by hand and removed the head and measured the distance from where the valve pushed into the puddy to the inside of the valve releaf.

Very nice, I always have loved the look of Red on a Mucsle car, next to black it is drop dead gorgeous.
What size and make of rear tires are those?

az-nick,
those are 325/50/15 Mickey Thompson ET street Radials. The car hasn't been driven with them on it yet.  I'm afraid they might rub the fenders a little.

Now I'm going to work on getting the frame connectors fitted and spot welded.  Then I'll pull the seats and carpet before the final weld-up...hopefull this weekend.  Once the connectors are in and painted/undercoated I can work on the fuel lines and battery relocation.  I've got more to do, but I don't want to set my sites too far....one step at a time.  I'll keep everybody posted as I go.

:swear:  Well, I spent this afternoon trying to get the subframe connectors to fit nice and tight.  I used up most of my patience on that today ,they still aren't right :eek7:.  But, I got the seats and carpet up out of the way for the welding.  After that I moved on to installing the pulleys, power steering pump, etc.  I can't seem to figure out how the alternator mounts up though.  I'm going to see if I can find some pics of that somewhere.  I drained the gas tank for removal.  I'll probably do that this coming week so I can get the sump welded in.  So, hopefully by next weekend I'll have the fuel system set up and maybe the ignition along with having the frame connectors welded in.

A lot of people use bolts a nuts to pull it close to the body then they weld it in.  Do a search and you can see some of their results.
