As a registered Independent, my choices were either a socialist or a liberal.  Then Biden got added, great, another liberal, bordering on socialist.  Now that Palin has been added, at least there's one conservative in the mix.  She dissed the media, so watch the lies and misrepresentations start pouring out.

I too wanna know -  WHAT THE HECK IS A "COMMUNITY ORGANIZER" ?

When I heard Sarah Palin was going to be McCain's running mate and what she stood for I knew there was a winning ticket. Finally someone with conservative values and not some socialist who wants to take all of my income in the form of taxes and give it to some lazy deadbeat who feels they are entitled to it some how. I love the video of Palin firing the assault rifle. I'd like to see Hilary do that. As far as New Orleans goes I may not have been there during the storm but I was there recently and decided to take the time to talk to locals and get their take on what happened. Funny I got basically two responses; the first was those who cried poor me and expected everything handed to them on a silver platter and blame the federal government for not doing anything for them and the second perspective (which was from the majority of people I talked to) was that the government acted very timely and worked very hard to help people but was met by a lot of resistance by locals (the national gaurd had to be called in not to help rebuild but to restore order because the locals were out of control shooting everyone in sight, raping women and stealing among other crimes). I was also informed that the Mississippi coast was hit harder by the storm and guess what 18 months after Katrina made a full recovery. Why was Mississippi able to recover so quickly from the storm and New Orleans will never recover you ask, it's simple the locals in New Orleans expected the world handed to them and when the government offered them a helping hand instead (which is what they should do) they cry poor me. Sorry but after my trip I have no sympathy for New Orleans.

Her speech was laking energy and persuation. She sounded like a nighttime storyteller.
To me, she didn't come off very strong in persuading me why she is such a great candidate for Mc Cain.

No emphasis about the economy. The #1 issue. Period.

TC,

I saw it completely the opposite.  Guess that's why there's more than one party.

Just read a good bumper snicker.

NO COUNTRY HAS EVER TAXED ITSELF INTO PROSPERITY

That's what Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson do. Kinda like an Ambulance chasing Lawyer with a mob. Fleece everyone you can for whatever reason you can invent. Boycot, picket, get on TV, hope somebody pays you off just to get rid of you. :stirpot: :villagers:

And it was Barack Obama's job prior to the Illinois senate.

I've been told if Obama is elected our income taxes will nearly double, that he plans to increase capital gains taxes from 0% to 28% on all home sales, increase Dividend Taxes from 15% to 40%, and restore inheritance tax.

Is this true?
You are 100% correct.  Small businesses like mine (not car related) will be decimated if Obama wins.  Trust me, I follow that stuff closely because it is my livelihood.

I've coined a new phrase here............. save the drama for obama!  I think he will tax us to death!   Even more with a democratic congress.

Intesting the endorsements from outside the USA... no offense guys.

I think mc cain pulled a rabbit out of the hat with picking her!

BUT if you follow the history, guess who's turn it is..............................................................  :eek7:

Personally I think McCain should get slapped stupid.

He didn't pick this woman because she's an excellent candidate.  They picked Palin 'cause she's got boobies.  They knew they couldn't win the ticket with intelligence and values, promises and policies, so they threw in the big fat GENDER card and unfortunately it's probably going to pay off.

I think it is a crying shame, and I have never been more dissapointed in my country, that people constantly revert to appearance, gender, class, height, weight, or age before considering things like COMMON MOTHER F&&&ING SENSE.  Oh yeah, sure - the town of 9,000 people she's governed love her - which means she's basically kissed a couple babies and hasn't really pissed anyone off.  She goes on National Television and says "Can anyone tell me what the 'VP' actually does?" and yet she's going to win 'cause she shoots guns and could pose in Playboy.  Does anyone even remember that Democracy puts the power in the people?  We could have impeached Bush Jr. YEARS ago, we could have ended this war all on our very own, and could replace every single person in the government if we as a nation worked together.  But we are so wrapped up in things like cell phones and Britney Spears crotch shots that we mindlessly let these idiots ruin our jobs, our children and our future.  Do you REALLY think you're being "represented" within the current tax laws?  Not a chance.

Shame on you, John McCain.  Shame on the media, shame on the government, shame on US for letting it come down to blacks verses women instead of BRAINS against BRAINS.

I have to disagree with you on the reasoning for picking Palin as a VP. I learned a lot about sarah Palin after her name was announced and what she stands for long before I saw what she looks like. I may be in the minority but I care about the issues and not what color their skin is or their gender or what their family members have done. None of that matters. Obama is a socialist who will destroy this country and what it stands for, not to mention taxing me to death so some lazy bum can collect a welfare check every month. As far as the video of Palin firing the assualt rifle that was just icing on the cake for me.

Well, a lot of people would disagree with you there.

http://donklephant.com/2008/09/03/republican-politicos-bash-palin-pick-off-camera/

She's a poster girl to give McCain some credibility with dejected conservatives.  The way she talks grates on my nerves too, she's going to slip up I can smell it.  She's going to say something stupid and then be completely unapologetic for it. And then we're back at square one, ANOTHER Bush administration.  At least Obama had the guts to support her and her daughter against the media bloodhounds.

This is one of those few areas where I say "You should really watch the Daily Show..."  They showed some great clips blowing this little double-standard out of the water:

What do we do when we see talk shows or tabloid blurbs about pregnant daughters?  WE BLAME THE PARENTS!  We've ALWAYS blamed the parents, and most of the time, the PARENTS are the one to blame!!!!

So why NOW, when some chick is running on a presidential ticket and she's got a (hot) pregnant underage daughter, we say "Ohh it's not her fault, no no, not the parent's problem, no, don't pull family into this..."

BULLSH!T!!!

Make up your freakin' minds!

She's a hot-headed, attention-seeking moron.  She has no idea what she's getting herself in to and she's too busy bragging about being a WOMAN for her or anyone else to give a sh!t.  See this trooper gate thing?  Trying to get a cop fired because he divorced her sister?  Oh no - nothing wrong there!  Put her in the freakin' white house!!  How dumb have we gotten?

I've got nothing against putting a woman in office, but Jesus - can't we get a SMART one who's not ripe with scandal?

Obama.  I Vote Obama.  Presidents have been raising taxes since day one.  At least this guy has promised to go down through the Federal Budget, line-by-line, and put the money where it SHOULD be.  Higher wages for teachers.  Better school programs, renewable energy programs.  Yeah he's not perfect - I'd love to see some better border controls...

You think McCain won't raise taxes?  Think again - the Iraq war has been pretty damned expensive, and he plans on keeping us there.  Trust me - McCain will cost America more money.

Let's ask CudaGuy - "Hey Don - do you want McCain to keep you in Iraq for another four years, or would you like to come home and play with that new 'Cuda?"
