Newbie From CA
« on: September 05, 2008 - 12:13:19 AM »
I am new to the Forum, but not to E-bodies.   I recently read the article of what you did for Cudaguy in giving him that 73 Barracuda.  You guys are fantastic!!

I own a 1971 Barracuda Convertible, 318 with 904 transmission.  I do have the original 318 that came out it, and will rebuild it when I get around to finishing the body and top and interior LOL.  I have been collecting parts for the car since I bought it back in 1983.   It was my daily driver until 2000.  It took a hit from a Chevy PU not looking when he was backing up back in 93, but it ONLY damaged the right fender and cracked the grill.  Was able to find a replacement for it no problem.  A few years ago, I was able to buy a new grill and new door panels.  When I get to painting the grill I will be asking for help on the proper way to get it back to it original argent silver.

It is in pretty ruff shape I know, but luckily for me it is a California car and no rust.

Look forward to reading about the other cars here

You are one lucky guy. I wish my daily driver was a 71 barracuda convertible. Where in California are you? I am in Sunnyvale. We have a great Mopar club in the South Bay if you are close. As for the grille Totally Auto Inc sells the correct paint in a rattle can (I've used it before quality product) when you are ready give them a call and they can set you up with the correct shade of textured silver. Oh and welcome to the board.

  Welcome to the site!!!  Great project car you have there.  Be glad that you and your Barracuda aren't up here in rusty Motown.  Hey, is that a VW beetle behind the Barracuda?

Thanks for the welcome and the information for the grill paint.   Yes that was a 71 Bug, I got rid of it a few years ago, was a project I was not going to finish :(  I Found a person who had the time to fix it up.

I live in the hot part of SoCal also, I'm up in Apple Valley :)   I posted smaller pictures with a side view.
