The Challenger A93 Registry

The Challenger A93 Registry.............

...........is just an idea at this point, but hopefully it will be a reality someday, with the help of
all of you out there that have a A93 Challenger from 1970 & 1971 and also all of you out there that
have factual information to contribute to it.

I guess the idea of The Challenger A93 Registry came from the idea that these cars are oddball, low-
end cars that many are not interested in ---- I guess you could say "they get no respect". As well, I suppose
you could say they are under appreciated and perhaps such a registry will benefit these cars and its owners,
in not only that sense but as a way to record such a great car.

Please contact me if you have a Challenger A93 I would be interested in gathering up you and your car's info.

It's a good idea but it would be hard to do.  Most of those surviving cars were converted to faux R/Ts years ago.  They are neat though.  Kind of like the business coupes of the day.  You could go down to the dealer and get the white hat special on a deputy.  $ twenty nine ninty nine ninty nine

Probably go 200,000 miles on the /6 3 speed by only changing the tires, brake shoes and one clutch change

Agreed. I've been saying for a while that in the very near future, if it hasn't happened already, the rarest Challenger by the number still existing will be original 6 cylinder cars, followed by original 318 cars.

OK, bella is a relative newbie to these cars, so if you know a historical detail or trivia about them, please post it.

I'll go first......

The E-Body A93 Coupes were the bottom of the line - entry level cars. Most folks know them for the fixed rear windows. The steering wheels were part of the low-buck entry level price as well. Instead of the woodgrain steering wheel rim that was standard on other models, it was solid black on the A93 cars.

Here are two photos of a 1970 A93 steering wheel, one of the whole thing and one close up. Note that the 1970 version is smooth. (the 1971 version is textured for added grip)
