It's a good idea but it would be hard to do.  Most of those surviving cars were converted to faux R/Ts years ago.  They are neat though.  Kind of like the business coupes of the day.  You could go down to the dealer and get the white hat special on a deputy.  $ twenty nine ninty nine ninty nine

Probably go 200,000 miles on the /6 3 speed by only changing the tires, brake shoes and one clutch change

360Cuda,

If you do not mind, do you have any other details about a "white hat special"  being $2999.99?
Never heard of a white hat special.

Thanks,
bella

Just do a Google search and you'll find tons of info and pics. They were no big deal. Just a package deal of popular options, sometimes throwing in a vinyl top, sometimes not. Most think they had white vinyl tops but that is wrong. Even if you got a vinyl top it could be any available color. The White Hat was for the Dodge Boys, not the top.

I don't believe the Challenger was ever part of the White Hat Specials promotion.

I am keeping my A93 Car that I love too much for any amount of money.

Thanks,

P.S. Still can not believe you called my mechanic in Red Deer from Kansas City, but glad you did.

I am so happy you are keeping your car             :cooldancing:           it is what it’s all about. Drive it, admire it, and enjoy it.
On calling your mechanic I had too;  I couldn’t just drive by …                       :burnout:                      :roflsmiley:                        LOL…

Thanks guys for the ads - I loved them. Especially the deputy one!

Just to let you know I have purchased the following domain:

www.challengera93registry.com

I am vigilantly working on the webiste - as a challenger a93 registry, as well as an informational site for Dodge
Challengers in general - that is for everyone but could really help out newcomers who are not accustomed to this wonderful world.

If you are interested in contributing any general info on the dodge challenger or the sport in general, please let me know.
You will have your name up in lights if you want to contribute an article or two. If seeing your name in lights
is not appealing, then just think of the contribution you can make to the community at large.

I am looking for any takers on articles for the following article topics:

1. What is a Clone?
2. What is a Survivor Car?
3. What can and does Rare really mean?

Also, any other topics or suggestions that any of you think is relavant please let me know. These topics were hard for me to understand
and i think spelling it out would be helpful to others. Of course I realize that there could be different points of view on these topics.
It just has to be clean, informative, and factual.

Thanks for your attention

...a few clarificatuions to help you write the info for your website, hope it helps...but, keep in mind, these are ONLY my opinions

...Clone...an incorrect/overused term, it means you are duplicating a car, possibly/probably one that never existed...nothing is cloned in the automobile world, as no two are absolutely identical, nor can they be...

...Recreation...a better term, but still incorrect, you aren't recreating the automobile, if it didn't exist the first time, you can't "recreate" it

...Upbadging...slang for slapping a CUDA emblem/stripe on a Barracuda, sometimes without using the correct parts to really make the car a "Tribute"...cosmetically enhancing the car only

...Tribute...probably the best term for the intended usage....for instance, you are building a HEMI CUDA out of a Barracuda using as many correct parts as possible...the finished car is a tribute to the HEMI CUDA you wish you owned...it is correct in every aspect except the vin#(thats illegal)

two more commonly abused/confused terms...

...restored...the car is made new again, everything is original and correct to the exact specifications the car was built with

...restification...I still call them street rods, a CUDA with a new 6.1 HEMI engine and 22" wheels is a great example...it may look as nice as new, but has modified paint schemes, modern drivetrain/wheels/suspension etc etc..

............................

...all the information about the term "survivor" you will ever need to know...the term has changed in the last few years, it has actually softened up on the criteria compared to the past rules...it used to only apply to Vettes, now they have opened up the judging for Muscle Cars too....the article/site is lengthy, but well explained...the true survivors are my favorite part of the hobby,

http://www.survivorcarshow.com/?link=standards

...rare has to do with production numbers, very simple....the confusion comes when rare and desireable are considered the same...a rare car sometimes is rare because no one wanted them when they were new, for various reasons, and even though rare today no one still wants them...many MOPARS fall into this category, they weren't exactly the hottest sellers in their day...........on the other hand, many rare cars are rare for other reasons, they were special editions/ultra high performance, but in general while they were desireable, they probably weren't practical or available to the general public....today, the HEMI CUDA you couldn't afford the gas or insurance for in 1970, is now the car of your dreams, but difficult to find because only a very few people could afford to purchase/operate them in 1970

ps....as your understanding of the hobby grows, you should be able to write your own articles for your website  and have YOUR name up in lights ....good luck with your endeavor

...a true survivor, 1970 Challenger T/A...15K miles, never restored, all original

Thanks Daytona,
this was great info and I appreciate the input. I will definitely use it when I write it up. I do not find writing and infact love
writing, but I just need the correct info to do it. That link to survivor cars has just about everything I think I need on that subject - quite
incredible. I see you have a nice one too!

So if you got anymore info and this is to everyone, please send it my way via links or point form etc. Appreciate any input on the above-mentioned
subjects so I can write up.

thanks,
Bella

I do know of a 71 that is a JL21. When you get things going I'll get the VIN for you. It is a shell right now. An interesting thing is that all the JL21 cars had bucket seats due to the standard transmission. Also not all seat colors were available on the JL21. My order sheets show the 198 as standard and the 225, 318, 383 as an option. The 340 could not be ordered on the JL21. I do not have 70 order sheets, so I can't say about the J93. I am pretty sure I have a 70 J93 here with a 383 N-code 4 speed. I have the fender tag.....somewhere. The car has been in storage since the 80's.

Hi everyone,

After Moporal's post I though I should just let the thread die as he advised. So I had to go to Edmonton for a few days.
and thought it was a good idea to get away from that post. I have just read the balance of that Hemi thread in What is it worth?

I do not understand what happened there, BUT again IT WAS NOT ME!!! I hope you guys realize that I never did any of it.
Obviously, someone has done the dirty on me. I do not know why but they must have enjoyed it.
I can not believe all this -- this is incredible and incredibly upsetting if you think it is me, but I
I can do is show you otherwise and overtime you will see who I am and know I had nothing
absolutely nothing to do with that silly and useless thread. Someone out there must really dislike me
to try to attribute to me!

I was always going going ahead with my Challenger A93 Registry and I will have it up before it is even ready as some
of you obviously do not believe me that it is real and I am real and I am telling the truth and I have been
very appreciative of the help I have received. I have always beenvery appreciative of all help and assistance I have
received on here from everyone and I hope that you guys will continue to be.

REPOSTED AS I HAD SPELLING AND TYPO ERRORS probably because I am a bit upset here!

Moparal is correct; just let the Hemi thread die and it will go away. The real person you are will always show in time. Let me know when you get to the point of needing info.
