Thanks guys for the ads - I loved them. Especially the deputy one!
Just to let you know I have purchased the following domain:
www.challengera93registry.com
I am vigilantly working on the webiste - as a challenger a93 registry, as well as an informational site for Dodge
Challengers in general - that is for everyone but could really help out newcomers who are not accustomed to this wonderful world.
If you are interested in contributing any general info on the dodge challenger or the sport in general, please let me know.
You will have your name up in lights if you want to contribute an article or two. If seeing your name in lights
is not appealing, then just think of the contribution you can make to the community at large.
I am looking for any takers on articles for the following article topics:
1. What is a Clone?
2. What is a Survivor Car?
3. What can and does Rare really mean?
Also, any other topics or suggestions that any of you think is relavant please let me know. These topics were hard for me to understand
and i think spelling it out would be helpful to others. Of course I realize that there could be different points of view on these topics.
It just has to be clean, informative, and factual.
Thanks for your attention

...a few clarificatuions to help you write the info for your website, hope it helps...but, keep in mind, these are ONLY my opinions
...Clone...an incorrect/overused term, it means you are duplicating a car, possibly/probably one that never existed...nothing is cloned in the automobile world, as no two are absolutely identical, nor can they be...
...Recreation...a better term, but still incorrect, you aren't recreating the automobile, if it didn't exist the first time, you can't "recreate" it
...Upbadging...slang for slapping a CUDA emblem/stripe on a Barracuda, sometimes without using the correct parts to really make the car a "Tribute"...cosmetically enhancing the car only
...Tribute...probably the best term for the intended usage....for instance, you are building a HEMI CUDA out of a Barracuda using as many correct parts as possible...the finished car is a tribute to the HEMI CUDA you wish you owned...it is correct in every aspect except the vin#(thats illegal)
two more commonly abused/confused terms...
...restored...the car is made new again, everything is original and correct to the exact specifications the car was built with
...restification...I still call them street rods, a CUDA with a new 6.1 HEMI engine and 22" wheels is a great example...it may look as nice as new, but has modified paint schemes, modern drivetrain/wheels/suspension etc etc..
............................
...all the information about the term "survivor" you will ever need to know...the term has changed in the last few years, it has actually softened up on the criteria compared to the past rules...it used to only apply to Vettes, now they have opened up the judging for Muscle Cars too....the article/site is lengthy, but well explained...the true survivors are my favorite part of the hobby,
http://www.survivorcarshow.com/?link=standards...rare has to do with production numbers, very simple....the confusion comes when rare and desireable are considered the same...a rare car sometimes is rare because no one wanted them when they were new, for various reasons, and even though rare today no one still wants them...many MOPARS fall into this category, they weren't exactly the hottest sellers in their day...........on the other hand, many rare cars are rare for other reasons, they were special editions/ultra high performance, but in general while they were desireable, they probably weren't practical or available to the general public....today, the HEMI CUDA you couldn't afford the gas or insurance for in 1970, is now the car of your dreams, but difficult to find because only a very few people could afford to purchase/operate them in 1970
ps....as your understanding of the hobby grows, you should be able to write your own articles for your website and have YOUR name up in lights
....good luck with your endeavor
...a true survivor, 1970 Challenger T/A...15K miles, never restored, all original
