Acc pump spring
« on: September 06, 2008 - 03:35:03 PM »
I recently cleaned out my eddy 800 AVS and after that I never got it to work properly. It stalled and acted very weard.
Now I found that I forgot to put back the spring for the acc pump, the one in the carb pushing the pump upwards.
Could this be the reason I had problem with it?  :clueless:

I suppose so, unless they put it in there for no reason.  :clueless:

No difference with the spring back, what kind of damage could the water in the carb have done? It was new.

If the water was in there long enough to grow "white fuzzies" on the aluminum inside the carb, then it is possible that the smaller passages in the fuel circuits are also blocked. Thin wire and careful inspection of every part of the carb that flows fuel, will help you determine the extent of the damage, and whether it is repairable. Otherwise, it sounds like a simple tuning or installation issue (gasket on wrong, bad vacuum caps, that kind of thing).
