My Dog
« on: September 06, 2008 - 10:01:42 PM »
My dog (Riley) tore is ACL last week. We got him all fixed up, but he's gonna look a little rough for a while. The cast can come off ina couple of days. I'm supposed to keep him confined to a small area, and not let him run around or climb any stairs for the first week. That's not going to be easy. He's a very active dog. Here's a couple pic.s of him after his operation...

I hope you dog gets better soon.  Please do not take this the wrong way, but I have not seen a dog shaved like that before and I think it looks a little funny.

Best of luck and wishes for a complete recovery.  Our Amber dog once had a huge cyst removed from her leg and looked a lot like that; in her case it was a 10-100" incision that took weeks to heal.  But it did ; )

Riley will be back to full strength in no time.  Dogs heal quickly, and with lots of love maybe even quicker.  How old is he?

Been thru it twice already-once with each dog and one needs the other knee done soon. You are right-the toughest part is keeping a young active dog from running and playing during recovery.

Riley and I thank you for the support. The cast came off today, and we'll take him in to have the stitches removed Saturday. It's gotta feel good to get that cast off. Still have to hold him back for a couple of weeks though.
