what gears do I have?

I was wondering what gears do I have? I have a 73 318 chally with a 904. i looked on the axel tag but it was too torn up to read!!  it's an 8 3/4.  At 40 mph i'm at about 2800 to 3000 rpm and at 65 to 70 i'm at about 3400 to 3800 rpm!! could someone help me out!!

if i had to guess i would say around 4.10s becasue my dads 318 727 runs almost 3grand at 60.. with 3.55s

does anyone know where I can find cheap but good gears for my 8 3/4?

randy's ring and pinon are good gears i have heard but pricey..and i don't know what all they carry for...

you can get gears from Mopar , Mark Williams , Strange , Eaton gear , Precision , Shop around

kowalski, what size is your tire? Tire size (diameter) can make a big difference in your rpms on the road.

245/45/17 in the rear 225/50/17 in the front

Kowalski,

Here is a formula to calculate your rear end ratio:

(Tire diameter)*(RPM)/[336.14*speed]=(rear end ratio)

Where tire diameter is in inches, speed in miles per hour.
This is for top gear only, (1:1).  If you wanted to use this for another gear, you would have to stick the transmission ratio for that gear in the denominator also.
