Old fella but new to here
« on: September 12, 2008 - 09:10:13 AM »
Hi.  Already posted about the 440 Hemi story, so figured I better say hello.  Currently looking hard for a driver 71 cuda so I can Hemize it.  Decades ago, I owned a 70 Charger RT, couldn't read the future, so sold it.  Trying to "get on back there", so to speak.

Been reading this board for the past week or so.  Fantastic so far, with a bunch of great folks.  Hope I don't change it!

Welcome!
You picked a good time to be buying a Cuda, I haven't seen the prices so low in a very long time.  We would love to see some pics when you find one.

Welcome to the forum.  I just recently purchased a Cuda project but am waiting to get it titled before I spend any time or money on it.  I'm certain you will enjoy the forum and find it very informative and at times entertaining.

Welcome to the site!  Don't worry about that "440 Hemi 6 Pack" thread as he probably won't be around much longer with the attitude/nonsense he's been flaunting around in that thread.  Our members/mods don't tolerate stuff like that and it's rarely ever done on here anymore. :2thumbs:

Sort of.  My dad gave me an old Farmall 400 Diesel when he got to the age of 90 (the startup of which can be viewed on YouTube under "oldcuda", or
).  It's real old and I have replaced nearly every seal and gasket in that machine, and it still leaks in places.  I have split the tractor three times, which means removing almost everything from it, and taking it down to three large hunks.  The rear engine seal has been the main reason for the splits.  Seems like I can't get it to stop leaking from there, plus somewhere in the center section there is a leak.  These are all seals, not really gaskets.  I absolutely hate leaks, but it only leaks enough to frustrate me, so I've learned to live with it.

Leaky Seal doesn't sound as good(?) as Leaky Gasket, right?

I kinda like him too, haha.  Thank you all for such a kind welcome.  In the last week or so, I have spent almost 14 hours on the site.  And yes, I have no life.  But it's great here!
