Are you refering to converting a flat hood to a shaker hood?? Otherwise( on the motor end ) its just swapin' parts.

Re: shaker hood installation.....not a flat to skaer conversion...

not looking at a flat to shaker conversion--the hood is good to go.
rebuilding this car, and concerned about mounting the skaker on the engine...maybe its just me, but i don't hvae a warm/fuzzy with just leaving the shaker assembly lying on top of the carb...is there anything to bolt it down to the engine or something?  when i place the bottom plate on the carb, it can rotate around.  also, with all the weight of the shaker assembly, i am looking at the only securing point being the air cleaner stud in the center of the carb, and scratching my head....not a good feeling that the carb assembly can take that force and stress, but i could be wrong.....figured it is better to show my ignorance here than frak up my car...
thanks,

the base sits on the carb , the air cleaner & lid uses the 5/16 stud to secure the base , on the 4 bbl cars there is a strap that support the base down to the intake & stops it from rotating

On mine, which is a six pack, there are also feet that support it on the valve covers.
