Just got my first Mopar 70 Challenger
« on: September 14, 2008 - 09:07:24 PM »
Ive always loved all Mopars, but these are my favorites.I just got this 70- 318- colum shift- bench seat Challenger off an old buddy from highschool. The cars been sitting in his garage since 92.He put a fresh 340 in it,355 posi, and a brand new 727 trans(which I have to install). He started patching the floor and firewall but lost intrest. So I got it.Im not sure what it worth but I think I got a good deal.Im gonna keep it original except for the 340.Im gonna need alot of help since Ive always been a Chevy guy.I still have my Z28 race car,but this will be my cruiser. Here are some pics. What do ya think???

Congratulations, that's a sharp looking car. You'll be a proud cruiser.

Welcome to the forum.  My original 70 was a column shift with a bench seat.  Not a bad deal.  Yours looks like a great project.  Keep us posted with pics.

Thanks guys! Im just gonna keep it a nice cruiser.I WANT to keep it,but with this Michigan economy if offered the right price I might let it go.For now Im gonna make it a nice cruiser for fun.I cant take my racecar anywhere.Thats what the Challenger will be for.The only thing I really need is a front bumper. The rest is just labor, which I will do.Oh and a colum shifter set-up.He had a Megashifter floor shift in it.I took that out already. He gave me a ton of parts Im not even going to use.Im leaving it the way it is.

:ylsuper:  Welcome to the Mopar Family!  Your Challenger looks very solid.  I think that once you get it all done, you'll keep your e-body even though you're a chevy guy.  Great to see another Michigander join the site!

They look like regular Magnum 500s. They could be found on any of a variety of mopars from around 67 until 74.

Welcome, btw. Nice car to start with.
