Useable flywheel?

is it just me or does this flywheel look not useable. this is the one that i just got from a vender on here.

It is hard to tell from this picture.  I would take it to a reputable machine shop to have them check it out, and if it checks good have them resurface it.

Hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like it can be turned and used. You may have a few light heat cracks in it. But turn it first. Mine looked like that untill I surfaced it. Check the thread holes to be sure they are good

  Take it to a machine shop and have it 'ground' not turned in a lathe. That will remove any lumps caused by heat spots giving you a true flat surface.

found out the marks that look like gouges to me, is just surface rust. my buddy said the flywheel weighs a ton, but is really smooth. he is used to aluminum mustang flywheels.

Might be balanced for a cast crank or 6-pack rods. What does the back look like?  If you are having your engine balanced, now is the time to include it.

When the machine shop resurfaces it, pay a little more to have the balanced checked. You have some extra holes showing from the front.   

What does the back look like?

that f'n sucks. this is the one that i got from FLMOPARS. any idea on what it goes to or what it will work on. if that isnt an f'n downer. i gotta go away for a while, this stupid car is gettting me po'd from here.

It's got part numbers on it, but it looks like a cast crank flywheel to me with the back having those cut down spots on it. Has some heat cracks too. Might be deep cracks and would need to be machined before you coul tell. I am not a pro on all flywheels, so hang in there. It just doesnt look like my 70 flywheel
