What I would do:
1) Remove the trim - carefully, I had the tool
2) Pull the glass front and back
- You can do this (I did it my first time), but make sure you take your time and are paying close attention. I first took a putty scrapper and scrapper along the weather stripping to get as much off as possible. You don't have to apply any pressure, just make sure the edge of the scrapper is sharp. After you remove what you can, I examined the windshield and found a spot where I could feed my wire (I used a cheese wire cutter) through and then tied it to a handle. Slowly worked my way around.
