Dodge Lancer
« on: September 16, 2008 - 07:58:49 AM »
A friend of mine has a family member that parked this 41k mile 1957 dodge royal lancer in a barn in 1968 and it has not seen daylight, he says it's a 352 eng.  Thats dirt not rust you see in pics, they want him to sell it but we dont know if it's a 500 or 5000 dollar car. Anybody got any clue it really is a time capsule.

:iagree: Definitely needs to be cleaned up to get a better idea.  As it sits right now it could be $500, but just a good cleaning would bump that up a lot.

he said the motor didnt crank when he tried to jump it. but that could be a few things, motor will be getting re-built anyway. He isnt going to clean it up for me, I wanted to know a fair price to give his uncle for it, cause this would be a keeper for me to put some 18' wheels and paint two-tone and just drive it. I think it would be a neat driver car.

If you're taking it as-is, not cleaned or running, I would probably offer $500.  There's no telling what's under all that dirt.  That would be a very cool driver.

It hasn't seen daylight, but has it seen rain or moisture?  In which state is the car located?

Looks really solid, if that is mostly dirt and not rust...

Another question, are you sure it doesn't have the 325 ci Red Ram engine, which would make it a Custom Royal Lancer?

Could clean up really nice:
