Number 3 for the background, number 1 for the pose (but it's too blown out).

I know what these guys are saying about #1. Color. lighting and backround are not quite right.  With all of it together though I just love it.

The way the scoops seem to float in space and the perfect roundness of the top along with the body line.  Very art deco and cool.

If you are looking at which has the best picture of the car, I would go with #2 or #3, but if you are looing at the entire photo as a unique shot, I would go with #1.

Kenny, It's a nice shot. But it's on grass.

Jackie, go with the one on the grass. While it was mentioned no grass shots there are ALWAYS exception to the rules. I'd never take a photo on grass, but that's me, sometimes they can look OK and I think because of your background this stands true for that shot. It's (IMO) the best of the (now) 4 shots in this thread. Email Moper and see if it's OK. There are no rules, only guidelines in photography and as mentioned, there are always exception to the rules.

Looking at them all and taken it for what it is, I'd go with #1

I think it is cool that it is at a drive in.  Very nostalgic like.  While ti is hard to tell what color it is exactly, I find it cool that you can't.  The car looks wicked straight and clean.  If it makes the contest, I'm sure the color balance will be corrected a bit.  That is really the only downfall of the shot, the background being so white.

For people looking at this pic thinking how can I do a similar thing (taken pic of car with bright background when car is shaded), remember a fill flash will help tremendously.  If this picture was taken with the flash forced on (most digital cameras have this option), the car would have come out looking green and the background would have been a tad bit darker, perhaps even picking up some detail.
Like everything, it is a learning process.

I'll be honest, a shot I haven't seen yet but would love to see on a calendar would be a silhouette shot of a Challenger/Cuda with a scenic sunset in the background.  This type of shot would be killer but it would have to be done right so as you can tell what car it is.  Never seen one done and would love to see it.

BTW, #3 is very nice too, but make sure you have it in a high res. file.

This was I was thinking at first as well, John, but then I remembered this:

2.   The subject of the picture is your car, it has to be your car you submit.  I will also say no models or people in the picture. Photoshopping of elements is not allowed.  Also please don’t crop your picture and if you do, make sure to submit the original.

Does altering the color balance count as photoshopping?

Well yes and no.  The color would be corrected during the printing process so the white wouldn't be blotchy.  I'm not talking about going all out and editing the colors of the photo to actually change them.  Each photo submitted will be voted on it's original apperance here, only during the printing will the photo be enhanced (contrast) and that is just to provide the best picture quality for the end user.  Just like when film is developed, the machine compensates for highs and lows automatically so basically this is what I'm reffering to.
You are right, we don't want to see photoshopping of elements, backgrounds, cars, etc...
