71 Challenger disc brake anti-rattle clips
« on: September 18, 2008 - 10:28:16 AM »
Hi,
Does anyone have pics or a link to some pics (or a diagram) of the anti-rattle clips on 71 Challenger disc brakes? I'm getting ready to rebuild the front calipers on my R/T and ordered caliper hardware kits which included some clips, pins, rubber bushings.
I'm pretty sure I can figure out how to install the clips except for some that look like zinc-plated, "bent wire". Those "wire" clips are not on my car, so I'm not sure how to install them.
Any help is appreciated.

Autoxcuda - thanks for the tip. I already have the clips, but I'll check it out on ebay anyway.

I always just leave the anti-rattle stuff off - never actually heard any rattling.

I heard the same thing. That if you toss them you won't notice a difference. Unless your looking for factory correct. THen I would keep em.

You are quite welcome. I went though this last year and I only wanted to do this job once.

While :iagree: The anti-rattle springs can be left off. The only thing they seem to do is help hold the pad on the caliper as you assemble the brakes. You should not skip the pin positioners, as they help hold the inner bushings in place. And that would cause a rattle if they popped out. :nono:

 Bump.

I'm there now also. Who makes these replacement parts?  Mine are 9/16" hex head pins with the plated finish. Thanks.
