S-spring door hinge
« on: September 19, 2008 - 03:21:34 AM »
when I was taking the doors out of my cuda ,one of the S-shaped springs fell out in two pieces...I want to start rebuilding the hinges now, but it suddenly came to mind I still need that spring...
so, if someone could help me out.... this part does not seem to be available overhere... :clueless:
paypal would be the easy way to go for me. I`m located in the Netherlands.

thanks

thanks mate,
I don`t have the doors at my house ,but wanted to pic them up tonight or tomorrow morning, so I can`t check now.  I`m almost certain the are the same on both sides though.
I`ll see if some else shims in who doesn`t have to dig through a pile of parts to find it... :faint:
If nothing comes up I`ll get back to ya  :2thumbs:

Why not have one cut by laser, and hardened a bit? (is it a flat piece or 3-D)

Don't you have a laser-cutter at work? A subcontractor of me has one, and if you want, we can use my hinges as exemple?

Let's make a whole bunch of them, and get really rich!  :D

:sly:   yeah...let`s get rich.... :jumping:  :faint:    Only one spring broke, so I have an example. Sure I can make one, but if I make everything I can make, I would definitely not live long enough to get everything done...    lasercutting a round bar won`t work... :clueless:

Bart...aka dutch

Take a look at the picture and let me know if you're interested. It came off a '73 left (driver's side) door, which I'm trying to make it into a '70. It does show wear grooves where it rubs on the hinge....John

Ow, Bart, I thought you were looking for the s-shaped flat piece which pushes the spring. I might not have asked for the piece you need, when I was in Belgium.... Sorry, please call Pascal to double-check, he might have the parts you need on stock....

Rob,  he doesn`t stock them since they never break  :faint:

they have some pre-tension ( don`t know if this is the correct term.. :clueless: )  and since they have a top and down side ,they also have a left and right side.  If you lay it on a flat surface the S is not flat...
