Well it is 6AM, I have the trailer, the cash, and I am headed out in a 1/2 hour... should take most of the day, but in the end, I plan on having a few beers with the new girl when I get her home and try not to cry... I mean stare too much at her.  I will take some pics of the loading and unloading and post them... it is going to be hard to get the grin off my face.

Thanks for the welcome... stay tuned.

Real excited for you!  :grinyes:

I rememeber the day I trailer my Challenger home.  Nothing in the world could bother me that day.   :ylsuper:  :drunk:

Funny story about the ride home if you're interested. My wife is not really into cars so I felt pretty fortunate that I could get this car.  So when I got the pick up/trailer, I brought along with me a 5 gallon bucket of soap/water, another bucket with clean water, and some rags to clean up the car  just before I got it home so my wife would think it was all pretty and all.

Well, it was late November, 5 years ago, so I brought the car down from NH to MA, pulled off the highway in a church parking lot, lathered up the car and then went to rinse off all the suds and soap (it was all bubbly and foamy) and wouldn't you know it, all the soap and suds had FROZEN to the car!  :faint:  The car looked like crap!  To top it off, the car wouldn't start off the trailer in the middle of the night when I finally got it home so I'm out there cranking/revving the engine disturbing the neighborhood!  :faint:

Needless to say, the wife wasn't very impressed with the car when I got it home.  :roflsmiley:

Well, she is home... I am beat, long day yesterday, but she is snuggled in the back of the garage... plan is to get all the other stuf done rigth now for the fall and then start working on her in a month of so... it was just one of those good deals with sooooooo many extra parts that I had to jump on it... the kid had like 45 people beating down his phone to get a look at it... I am glad I was FIRST!

So I got there and he was already emptying parts off and out of the cuda/garage... we loaded up the tranny and engine first... didn't know big blocks weighed that much and no where to grab... let's just say the back had seen better days.

Got it loaded pretty easy by hand and some straps... driver front is sitting low as he said the torsion bar is not hooked up on that side?  Not sure as the hood was already strapped down for the ride home.  I will check into that more later.

The passenger side was a bit more rough in the rear quarter then I was able to really see, but it needs a full rear quarter... wheel houses look fine.  We started to run out of room, so the dash went in the trunk and a ton of parts went inside... the more valuable and breakable stuff went in the truck.

Got an orignal grill and a repro a few dash clusters, 2 rally dashes a ton of sheetmetal, new driveshaft, 3 or 4 boxes of parts that are labeled, but are all brand new, from what it looks like, the correct intake and a couple carbs... lots of stuff to go through still.

Best 2 pictures... my wife sitting at the end of the trailer trying to figure out what I just did and me having to explain to her what English Leather was... that was on the rear bumper... cologne for men... pretty classic.

Seats are in rough shape, but are there, 2 steering columns, one in an done out... a lot of stainless, chrome trim parts and finally the rear seat, heater controls, a set of heads and some other misc stuff... all in all, a lot of parts, a lot of sorting out... I need to build some shelves this weekend to sort it all out.

Great score and it looks way cool, will be interested to see what path you decide to build the Barracuda as...........

Even though you have a lot of spare stuff, do not sell anything you have from the car until you know what direction you want to go with it. :2thumbs:

agreed, this is my first cuda build, but I have been restoring Jeep CJ's for years.

www.certifiablejeep.com is the site where there are a ton of CJ's that I have done and currently have one going.

I have to go through all the parts first to see even what I have... the guy I bought it from had the car for 4 years and did some work to it, but just bought a ton of stuff off eBay... so, I will do that in a few weeks when things free up a bit.  I have a lot going on right now... I was going to really start looking for a car in the Spring, but well, things happen.

So, I put a picture of where I want to go with it... the model image cover... if I can get to it pretty close to that, I would be very happy.

I got the fender tag and already ran it through a decoder, but thanks for the offer.
It looks like it was all that was told to me.
It was originally an A/C car, but he said that a lot of those parts are not around anymore...
Also, he said something about the sequence number as being high... not sure if that was true or not, but I would imagine with a build date in June of 1971, it was getting towards the end of the build year and they would be starting up the 72's soon.  Just curious how close this was to the end of the run.
