Radio Cost More Than Engine
« on: September 20, 2008 - 02:08:32 AM »
:clueless: I have always been amazed that the AM-FM radio cost more ($12.40) than the 340 engine upgrade when I bought my '73 Cuda.  The base engine was a 318.

E55- 340 C.I.D. Engine-8 Cylinder-4BBL - $179.00
R35- Radio-AM/FM Stereo - $191.40

If this was on the Price Is Right, I would opt to say the engine cost more.

In 1970 an FM radio was as High-tech as a Satellite radio is today. :smilielol:
Once we had Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope & Johnny Cash. Now we have Obama, No Hope and No Cash!

Now if only the original buyer of my '73 would have opted for that over a darn radio...Heck, they had every other option, aside from a 340 and rear sway bar, installed on it. ::)
