Removing the air conditioner.

I want to remove the A/C unit from my '71 Challenger 383 but have been trying to figure out what to do with the belt going to the alternator since it shares the belt with the A/C compressor. Any suggestions?

I'd look into just picking up some non a/c brackets and pulleys and running that.

Yep, I'll have to figure out what I need to do this. Don't really need A/C up north and it's just taking up space under the hood. Plus it's not even working.

What all are you taking off as for as the a/c is concerned?   I might be interested in the setup for my car.  Thanks  Gordon

I want to remove the A/C compressor and all the hoses. I'll have to check into what parts I'll need to convert it to a non-A/C engine and how much it'll cost. I just bought the car, the A/C hoses are disconnected so I don't even know if the compressor is good, might be junk. If it's gonna cost alot then this little project will have to wait awhile.

I found it! 440 Source sells a complete package to replace all the "w/AC" gear with "non-AC" gear.

Any suggestions on releasing the freon in the compressor, if there is any?
