Thats great news!!! Having your PSA tested via a blood draw is less invasive for a checkup, although I know a DRE is sometimes required and necessary.
While on the topic of health, I reccomend anyone aged 50 or more to get a colonoscopy. Finding colon polyps early can save your life.
This is so so true!!! - get a colonoscopy if your doctor advises it. I have a condition and disease
that requires me to get a COLONOSCOPY every year. It does not hurt at all and I have had it done about
25 times already. There is no excuse not to get check out for anything.
My father had bladder and colon polyps and struggled with it for 7-8 years and received the BEST
medical treatment for it possible (thank you Alberta Health Care). However, he intially waited too long for
treatment and this severly hurt his chances of survival as these polyps /CANCER can spread through out and
anywhere in your body. Even though they got the bladder and colon polyps the cancer did spread elsewhere
and my dad could not bear to go through chemo and all the pain and suffering again so he refused any further
treatment and he did not last long at all.
I might add my father was a FAMILY PHYSICIAN/DOCTOR!! So even someone who should have known
better did not do the correct and best thing for himself.
My advice to everyone -- GO TO YOUR DOCTOR EVERY YEAR AND GET A PHYSICAL EXAMINATION/CHECK UP!!
DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE DOCTOR ABOUT WHAT TESTS NEED TO BE DONE. JUST DO IT AS IT COULD SAVE
YOUR LIFE AND ALLOW YOU MORE TIME WITH YOUR LOVED ONES.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR HEALTH YOU DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING......NOT EVEN YOUR CUDA OR CHALLENGER!!
Congratulations with your Great News!!!
