Yes, very rare.  If you have the pitman arm too then your all set.   I had mine sent away to be repaired because you just can't find them anywhere.

The date casting on it shows it to be the same as mine, which would be to late for an AAR or T/A.A few (very few)71 340 cuda's were optioned with the T/A quick ratio steering box.

I bought mine 25 years ago , box, pitman arm and pump I paid 250 a big knot back then but even in the day they were hard to find........     I would not sell mine for less than a 1,500 dollars,  but that just  me  seems every time I go to buy something Mopar the price is always way way high.......

The faster ratio was from the pitman and idler arm.

The faster ratio was from the pitman and idler arm.

so does that mean the steering box is the same as a std power steer box? why would they cast it t/a?
wouldnt the internals be different? ie worm / sector etc?

can anyone give me a coding off the build sheet for fast ratio steering ?. my t/a  build sheet reads.....

s77.... then underneath the 77 in the box it is stamped 4...so was this car std or fast ratio steering?
T/A AND R/T............... IM GREEDY.

The T/A box is different inside.

S74 is the broadcast sheet code for fast ratio steering.

After a certain point in 1971, the fast ratio boxes were used in all 1971 340 Cudas, & Challengers.

After the certain point in 71 did the 340 Cudas and Challengers  have the fast ratio with the T/A cast in to the body or did they just use a longer pitman and idler?

Yea Alaskan T/A is fast :cooldancing:,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,   I think I am dense as wood cause I read it and it says Identical to the T/A cars but why do you need a special pitman and idler :clueless:,,,,,,,, would not identical T/A  pitman and idler be correct?
