What I think is funny is that I have seen several people say that the single torsion bar system didnt exist or that there was no difference between the years, but here is photographic evidence....................its like bigfoot  :roflsmiley:

I found this today and I was surprised to find out that 71 Cudas had dual bars. Mine is only one.

Well not all 71's had the single torsion bar setup, thats why there is so much confusion, I believe that the early 71's were the only ones to recieve the single torsion bar, like mine is a january 71 built car :stirpot:

my Dec. built Chally is a signle one too- If I am correct- they went back to a two one in April 71 due to too many problems in making the trunk lay flat- always wants to stay popped up on the right side!!!

You're quite welcome black71  but are you sure we helped at all?
I think we just confused everyone..........................including ourselves  :clueless:

Seriously though, glad you got her figured out

Sick looking Chally too

My guess would have pegged it as being black for some reason though  :dunno:  :smilielol:

I'm glad you posted the pics. It has been like Bigfoot. No one had pics. Where was your car built? Was it a plant thing or was it a partial year thing?

This is all new to me aswell and i have been following this thread to see the outcome and wondered the same things as to what plant it may of been introduced and when it may of been canned to go back with the double torsion springs :clueless: :2thumbs:

My 71 cuda has a build date of 4/21 and I only have one bar. This months Mopar Action mag has this question in the resto topics section. They replied that  1970   cudas & challys had 2.  1971 both had 1.  1972/73 cudas had 1 while the challengers went back to 2.  They also said it could be kind of a crapshoot as whether you got one or two????
