Question about LED tail light replacements.

Does anyone run LED tail light replacement bulbs. And if so are they priced reasonable?

So far I found this site and some on e-gag. But I'm not sure what will fit in there? And the prices vary quite a bit. I would hate to order 8 bulbs and find out they don't fit.

  I sure do like the 30$ bayonet bulbs.  Those look to be a very bright conversion.  8 bulbs worth sure is expensive though.  I bet they would look great and would be much more bright than regular bulbs.  It says 5 watts, will that change any of the electrics of the car?

That would sure cut down the load to the tail lights. Standard specs are:

I haven't seen any replacement bayonet led bulbs that have the output of an 1157. A red led bulb in a housing with a red lens doesn't work very well. I tried some and it was pretty dim.

You want to use white lights on red lenses because that way instead of getting only one color spectrum trying to get through the same spectrum of lense, the white will come out brighter.

I've gotten LED's from these guys before with good success.

Don't forget you have to convert your flasher relay from a thermal to a electrical one to operate with the new LED's.

  REMEMBER THAT NO LOAD FLASHER. You can pick them up anyware but I got mine from www.Reidsrodparts.com 714-769-1932 They just got a new batch with 2 and or 3 prong depending on what you need. They run about 12 bucks. Also keep in mind I got a set of the 1157 with the wide head led. They don't fit the original plugs because the head is so large. Also you have to remove the lense to plug them in. The head is to large to fit into the whole under the houseing.

I'd like to see comparisons between the LED's (newer ones now) and regular bulbs like they did in mopar action a couple of years ago. LED's have a really focused light output so they look a little weird behind a wide lense.

I'm still not sure of what ones will fit the housing. Any help here would be welcome.

I don't have the link anymore, but there was a company at one point making really nice drop in LED conversions for Mopars. No little bulb replacements, but entire panels. I think they were around $180 though

Seems like a great deal until you realize that the housing and lens are not included. Pretty steep for four flat panel led's if you ask me.
