57 ain't too bad.  My grandfather ran a little country store...........Sold Atlantic gasoline. only 2 grades then ........reg and hi-test.   Prices in and around 1962, cause we has just bought a  new 62 chevy.......... were   $0.259 and  $0.299.   Times change and  we do too.  There are some good memories though.

Low today in Huntsville, AL is 1.89.... False high of about $4.69 in the 1st couple of days after the hurricane settled to $3.69 for a week or so.

Think about it this way...That new Chevy probably only cost a couple of thousand...... today a full size Chevy is 10X that..... so gas at 2.50-3.00 a gallon would be about right..
