Still don't know what color to paint the thing yet. Color of the moment is EK2.

I hate the old, What color to paint Dilema

I gotta tell ya, EK2 Go-Mango is my favorite Challenger color. What color interior would you do???

Actually, the interior color is driving my decision quite a bit. The car had a very nice Black door panels and rear panels. Plus, the car came with new black headliner and carpet. Because of that, I decided to keep it black and ordered new black seat covers for it. Those have already been installed so I guess I'll be staying with Black.

I really LOVE a white interior and think that white interiors look awesome on EK2 cars. The colors I continue to debate are FC7 Plum Crazy, EV2 Hemi Orange (which I really like with black interior), EK2 Go Mango, FJ5 Sublime and EB5 Bright Blue Metallic. It probably won't be decided until it is the paint shop and the guy is standing in the booth saying "Are you sure?"  :grinyes:

I have never had a problem with picking a paint color but this car is KILLING me. On a good note, I refinished the flip top gas cap today.  :woohoo:

Sorry, "refinish" was a poor word choice. I should have said freshened. My cap was in pretty good shape since it was reportedly replaced with a new original Mopar cap about 12 years ago. It has some very small blemishes which is OK with me since I sort of like a little "Patina" for an occasional driver. I simply cleaned it really good, removed dirt and loose paint, removed the clips and then masked it off and primed and then painted the black areas. I then used an exacto knife to scrape off the black paint that went on the surface of the word FUEL. Hard to take a good photo since it is shiny but here ya go. Joe

Well, it has taken me a while to get anything done on the car lately but I finally finished rebuilding the Challenger's heater box today. I ordered gasket rebuild kits from James Filmore at Detroit Muscle Technologies. His kit is awesome and has everything you need. Best part is that it all fits perfectly. I had found a blower motor from a buddy of mine but it was not exactly like the original. I decided to bite the bullet and get one from Jules D'Addio. It was worth it..it looks fantastic. Never done one of these before but it wasn't very hard and I'm happy with the way it turned out. Now that this is done, I continue with the teardown and remove more parts from the car. Here's a few pics..not great but you can get the idea. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Joe

I haven't been able to do too much with the Challenger for a while but got a few things done in the past week or so. I pulled the underdash vent on the driver side of the car. The drivetrain dolly and casters are done but the holes for the mounting the casters to the frame were drilled backwards  :pullinghair: and had to be drilled correctly. The body caster wheels are made to be removed so the car can be lowered completely if needed. My wife and I had a pretty good talk about the color for the car and have narrowed down to EK2 or FC7. We'll see what happens when it gets painted. Probably won't get too much done during the Holidays so I hope everyone has a good and safe one.   Joe

And this from a guy with a Purple car.

Looks like I may actually have time to work on the car tomorrow. My goal is to pull the steering column, torsion bars and front sway bar. Anything else I can get done will be BONUS. Wish me luck and Happy New Year everyone.

4theChallenger: I would measure mine for you but my T/A base is boxed up somewhere. I do have a standard style 6 pack base on it right now and if you want the measurements of that set-up let me know and I will be glad to do it for you. Just let me know.
