Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Yes, Cracker Barrels are all over the place around here. I have one about 3 blocks from my house. If you ever come out this way ntstlgl1970, I'll buy you dinner. In the mean time, I can send you a bag of grits if you need a southern food fix.
I understand the importance of a sence of accomplishment and the joy this undertaking has brought, but I was wondering if you had penciled an estimated budget for this project and given some thought as to what value it may have once completed.
Good questions. Have I penciled an estimated budget? Answer: YES, I did when I first started the project. I plead the fifth on whether or not I have exceeded it.
Have I given thought to value once completed. Answer: YES, however it has changed quite a bit since I started the project and the economy has tanked. If the car were done 3-4 years ago, I'd probably make decent money on it. Selling it completed today, I'd probably break even. However, resale was not my first concern. My goals with this car were to make it the nicest car I have done to date (finances allowing) and to work on my patience throughout the process. I have never taken a car apart to this degree nor restored each component as I am doing. I know the car will not be perfect or a "blue chip car" but it will be one of my biggest/best restoration accomplishment to which no price tag can be given.
