On the clutch, p/n 3462112 is for a 71 and a 70 is a 2806070. I asked Fred about this who re builds them and this is what he told me.

Does yours have a small coil spring in the front? Or is it a flat smooth type?

the clutch has a small coil spring opposite the fan.  Can't find a part number.  Probably aftermarket Is this the correct type of clutch??

Actually Topcat, I need the fan itself, not the clutch - but now I'm curious.

The coil ones are later. When they actually came in and replaced the flat faced units, I don't know. I'm thinking they are 72 and up. Fred will definitely know. He knows his clutch fans well. I called him today to check if my re built one was sent out. He's out of town right now.

The fans are a no brainer. All over e bay all with the wrong clutches most of the time though.

He rebuilt my clutch for $199.00 plus 12 bucks shipping. It was a 7 month wait. Could even take longer depending on his back up. He does them on the side. Not a full time job. His work has been highly recommended to me. He was a really nice guy to talk with also.

One thing Fred told me when I spoke with him. He said no matter what condition you find one or buy one in that's used, It has probably lost some of the fluid inside sometime during its use. Then they won't last or enguage well.

Mine looked alright initially, but I figured I didn't want to end up sending it out later. So last Feb. I sent it to him. I can't wait to get it. I'll post a pic of it when it arrives.
