For you guys' info, it is GM that is in trouble not Cerebrus (Chrysler) so it would be Cerebrus as a head of both companies. There would likely be no change at Chrysler that hasn't already been discussed.
Cerebrus has been a firm that has bought troubled companies and overhauled them by cutting costs (firing un-needed mid mgmnt., streamlining shipping, partnering with other companies on research to share the cost........)
Remember Back when Cerebrus first got a hold of Chrysler the Mopar Parts shipping biz was outsourced? That was a good move. Instead of having it in-house the outsourced it to local shippers. Good move. It saves money and provided biz for other Americans and Canadians.
Chrysler is on the right path for Cerebrus and they have to be happy with the progress since the Diamler-Chrysler days.
If/When Cerebrus gets ahold of GM you will probably see Pontiac go buh-bye quicker than it would have. It was going away no matter what by 2015 but it would probably see the axe by 2012 or sooner. Buick? Buh-bye! Yukon AND Tahoe? Merge the line! Canyon and Colorado? Merge.
Chrysler and GM already have a joint venture in a hybrid powerplant that both companies have put alot of money and resources into.
Also for the Hemi Anything in GM vehicles, not likely at all. The LS platform is the best powerplant out there. It is more powerful, can handle almost 1000 hp on the stock bottom end, is more upgradable/tunable.
The Hemi is good but they haven't made it's ECU very tuneable making the Aftermarket smaller. Look a how easy it is to put a LS in an older Chevy. Chrysler made it hard on the afterarket in retrofitting older Mopars with Hemi's.
In addition to that, they use more fuel and don't make the power the LS does. So why would you want a Hemi over an LS?
